I’m a big kid when it comes to Christmas. Whether it comes from being an only child, or just a love of food, spending time hanging out with mum and dad and a truck load of alcohol is my idea of heaven. Everyone is in a great mood, food is in permanent supply, and the smell of Christmas trees is everywhere.
It’s far too easy to get so swept up in the fun and jollity of Christmas and forget what it’s all about. And I don’t actually mean the religious aspect of things.
Take out the commercial side for a minute, and focus on the heart – friends, family and love. Which is why The Muppet Christmas Carol is my all-time favourite Christmas film 😉
But while you’re having fun, remember to check in on the elderly friends, neighbours and relatives. The people you know who might not be as surrounded with love as you are. Call those friends you haven’t spoken to in a while. Make sure you remember how lucky you are to enjoy the festive period surrounded by loved ones.
